Director of Ministry

The Director of Ministry is the founding visionary of The Field's Edge, carrying the theological DNA, missional relationships, and pastoral presence that make TFE distinct. This role is not operational — it is the conscience, the preacher, and the relational anchor of the organization. Reports to the Board of Directors.

Ministry Presence

  • Lead weekly Bible study in the Village
  • Pastoral visits to neighbors and alumni
  • Primary preacher at Village worship gatherings
  • Pastoral input on neighbor housing intake
  • Monthly Neighbor Care Manager report review

Theological & Cultural Leadership

  • Lead monthly staff devotion
  • Own TFE's theological framework
  • Review program design for theological integrity
  • Culture-carrier in hiring and corrections

Donor & Church Relationships

  • Steward founding and major donor relationships
  • Church partnership engagement — 2 per quarter
  • Partner organization events (Love Midland, TTUHSC)
  • Quarterly ministry health report to board

External Mission

  • Deepen TTUHSC healthcare coordination partnership
  • Civic coalition representation on homelessness
  • 3–4 external speaking engagements per year
  • Grant narrative authorship and review
Not in scope:Financial oversight, HR, facilities, vendor contracts, payroll, or day-to-day staff management. Those responsibilities rest with the Executive Director.
